Product Summary
This rooftop heat pump contains a variety of premium quality components, which contribute to its function and durability, including:
- Stainless Steel, Tubular Primary Heat Exchanger: Wrinkle-bend technology improves durability and ensures the system remains reliable over the long term. The heat exchanger lifetime warranty lasts for up to 20 years after installation.
- Variable Speed ECM Motor: Included on 16 SEER models, this motor provides quiet startup and shutdown, while providing efficient performance in between.
- Refrigerant-Grade Premium Copper Tubing and Aluminum Fin Condenser Coil: Excellent heat transfer is supported, with the system using industry-compliant R-410 refrigerant.
- Fully Insulated Blower Compartment: The blower is packaged to minimize operating noise, while panels have been integrated to simplify access to the blower components.
- Heavy-Gauge Galvanized Steel Enclosure: Durable materials and a powder-paint finish offer protection from the harshest outdoor elements, extending unit longevity.
The APU14M gas electric heat pump delivers efficient cooling capacity with fewer moving parts than similar systems, which reduces energy usage. In addition to other noise-reducing features, the pump includes a compressor sound blanket. It can be operated using electric power or with propane, as a redundant gas valve is included.
A microprocess controls the direct spark ignition system, blower operation, and safety circuits. The heat pump’s reliability is complimented by its compliance with California’s low NOx standards and compatibility with Nest automation products. Smart apps can be used to control every feature, so the unit can be managed just as easily as your other home automation systems. Plus, with ActivePure® Technology, clean, purified air is a guarantee.
