Laguna Hills Air Conditioning, Heating & Plumbing Services
NEXGEN is proud to be the team Laguna Hills homeowners call for air conditioning, heating, and plumbing they can count on. We know this area well — the hillside lots, the canyon-adjacent streets, and the clay soil underneath a lot of these properties that shifts with the seasons and puts real pressure on underground pipes over time. We also know that Laguna Hills runs on 100% imported water, since there's no local groundwater here, which means it comes in noticeably hard and takes a toll on water heaters and fixtures faster than you'd expect. That local knowledge shapes how we approach every job here — because in Laguna Hills, the ground and the water usually have as much to do with a problem as the equipment does.
Plumbing in Laguna Hills
Clay soil doesn't sit still, and that's the root of most of the slab leaks we see in this part of Orange County. It expands when the rain soaks in and contracts once things dry back out, and that repeated squeeze puts stress on pipes that a flatter, sandier lot never has to deal with. Layer in water that arrives 100% imported with no local groundwater to soften the load, and you've got fixtures and water heaters working against mineral buildup on top of everything else. If a Laguna Hills home has had more than one slab leak, we'd rather scope the whole line than patch it a second time.
Air Conditioning & Heating in Laguna Hills
Being tucked into the hills a few miles off the coast means Laguna Hills gets some marine-layer relief, just not as much as the beach cities closer to the water — so cooling loads here land somewhere between coastal-mild and inland-heavy. The bigger issue tends to be ductwork left over from the neighborhood's original 1970s–80s build-out, now 40 to 50 years old and well past the point it should still be doing the job. Canyon winds add their own complication, kicking up dust that clogs an outdoor unit fast and occasionally triggering a power shutoff that a system has to recover from cold.
What This Means for Your Home
Because so much of what goes wrong in a Laguna Hills home traces back to the hills themselves — clay soil movement, imported hard water, canyon wind exposure — we start every visit with a water hardness check and a look at how the property sits on its lot, rather than just diagnosing the equipment in front of us. Every repair and installation is backed by our 10-year parts warranty and lifetime unit replacement warranty, and we offer financing for bigger jobs like slab leak repair or a full repipe. We're dispatched out of our Laguna Hills location on Peralta Dr, so we're never far when something fails.

Can't Say Enough Good Things
“My thermostat took a dive on me so I went to replace it. That's where I met Breanna at Home Depot she advised me on the Ecobee one and normally I don't use big companies because of cost is always higher since they have higher overhead. However, at $49 for a diagnostic they sent someone out and that's when things got even better Lazaro was our technician. He was trustworthy and communicative and effective at explaining to me and my wife what he's doing to our unit and why. In the end because of his demeanor and character I chose to get work done through his company. I got an ionizer placed and he patched a few areas where air was escaping. Cleaned condenser and added a second capacitor and cleaned the fan on inside of my house as well as checked the coils which were fine. In summary the company is trustworthy or at least my experience was good. At at a $49 diagnostic fee it was worth it to have someone come out and let me know where I'm at. Can't say enough though about Lazaro he sold me on trusting next gen so if everyone is like him you'll find value.”- S.S. -
Trustworthy Team
“My technician Joseph was a solid and upstanding dude. He took his time doing an inspection of my old hvac system. He let me hover over him and helped educate me on the different components of the furnace and AC units. He didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear, but he told me what I needed to hear. Would trust him and his team to do my maintenance and future installs for my home.”- Andrew W. -
Great Service!
“My AC stopped working and gave me a power failure message. Ryan was dispatched as the technician to assist. He was great, he quickly diagnosed the issues (fuses and capacitors). He gave me practical solutions and was great to work with. If I have issues in the future I will be asking for him specifically.”- Roger D. -
